Tucson Lullaby Rootmaster - Cushion

The Tuscon Lullaby design in Rootmaster features as part of our Limited Edition collection London is the Place For Me, designed in collaboration with Africa, founder behind The Vitamin D Project.

London is the Place For Me is an ode to Africa's grandparents and all those of the Windrush generation

Reminiscent of the patterned fabrics found on British transport, Rootmaster reimagines Tuscon Lullaby to feature Africa's signature colours of browns, greens, creams and reds. This rectangular cushion is an easy way to inject a sense of texture and warmth, to bring your sofas' and beds alive, con-temporising the traditional take on ‘home sweet home' this time with a retro Caribbean twist 

 "I’m a sucker for a bold, busy print and have had the idea for this design brewing for a few years now. Tucson Rootmaster is a blend of retro moquette fabric and my signature colours. One of my grandad’s used to be a bus driver in West Yorkshire and he’d share stories with me of white passengers putting gloves on before handing over their bus-fare to him. This print is for my grandad. It was important to me that the rich textures of the print came through and I think we’ve achieved this perfectly" - Africa

About the Cushion

As a brand we love all animals and have opted not to use duck feathers in our fillers, instead our fillers are made using a super soft mix of recycled plastic bottles. We have chosen the perfect volume for each filler which allow the cushions to be compressed and slowly bounce back, similar to a duck feather filled cushion. The best part, anti-allergen and no pesky feathers poking you in the back as you're laid up on the sofa!

Eco Friendly Measures - We can certify that the cushion fillers that we supply to you is produced from recycled polyester raw materials. These raw materials comprise (although are not limited to): PET Bottle Flake (from recycled post consumer, washed PET bottles and containers) PET Post Industrial Recycled waste Off spec and PET chips. This polyester fibre complies with Oekotex Standard 100 and also with GRS (Global Recycling Standard).
